We had an amazing field trip to Plumper Pumpkin Patch! We were so lucky to pick a quiet day where we were the only school at the farm in the afternoon! Along with Miss Ashlee's class, we were involved in so many activities around the pumpkin patch! We learned about pumpkins, took a hayride on a cool tractor, saw some farm animals, slid down a huge tube slide, played on a playground, and picked out our pumpkins from the patch! It was a great field trip and we were so lucky to have so many parents join us!

2015-2016 School Year
Welcome to another great school year in the Upper SRC! We are looking forward to lots of fun and learning this year!
Miss Ashlee and myself get together each year and create a syllabus for our classrooms. Within the syllabus you will see the month, a thematic unit, topics of study, a special activity, and any parental responsibilities for that month. Hopefully this will help families plan for the school year!

Cynthia Lord Visit!
Cynthia Lord, author of Rules, visited Sexton Mountain today! We are especially excited about this visit
because Rules centers on the story of
a big sister who happens to have a younger brother who is on the Autism Spectrum. Through out the story, we learn a bit about
autism and we also learn how to understand the perspectives of
others and how our actions and words can show how we care by creating an
inclusive environment.
Cynthia's visit also happens to fall on World Autism Awareness Day! We feel so lucky that Cynthia spent special time with both SRC classes and read her books about Hot Rod Hamster! We learned about the actual animals Cynthia based her characters off of! It was a wonderful experience for both students and staff!
